Bed Buddies

These 'Bed Buddies' and the heatings bags below are made from cozy polar fleece (flannel and tapestry fabrics available also) and have been filled with rice that has been scented with essential oils! Mmmm, smells so good and feels sooo nice!!!

They are all $14.95US each and can be custom made in a variety of colors, patterns, scents, or unscented.  For girls, my most popular fabric has been anything in pastel colored fleece.  The black snowflake and animal prints have been a big hit with kids, teens, and adults!

Bed Buddies are a perfect gift for that difficult to buy for person - Grandma, Grandpa, teacher, secretary (applied cold to palm side of wrist will help relieve symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome), coach, tween girls (warm provides soothing relief of menstrual pains), secret Santa (especially when it may be going to either a male or a female), neighbour, sister (I have five and they all have one now, and even their kids), brother, niece, nephew,...

You never need to worry that they may already have one, as every household could use several - I keep a couple in ziplock bags in the freezer, and we all have our own favorite teddy or neck roll to heat up to help relieve our various aches and pains. I like a neck roll when I'm on the computer for extended periods, my son uses one scented with lavender when he gets heachaches, my daughter loves her teddy warmed up and placed on her tummy when she gets her periods, and hubby uses one of the cold packs when he strains his back after Karate.

The essential oils I have to scent the rice with are: vanilla (#1 seller), sugar cookie, mochaccino, lavender(#2 seller- also add real lavender flowers to the rice), cinnamon, sweet orange,Floral, peppermint,spearmint).

They can either be heated up or frozen and have many uses for all kinds of aches and pains, or just as a special comforting tool! These are approximately 12" X 8".

Heat them in the microwave (place a mug of water in with it - creates a nice, moist heat and prevents the rice from drying out over time) for 1-2 minutes (you may want to heat it a little longer depending on the size and power of your microwave). This moist heat will relax tense muscles, increase circulation, relieve cramping and reduce muscle spasms. (If you get night cramps try warming your bed/legs with a couple of these). Do not apply heat to swollen, inflamed areas- use it cold from the freezer.

Used as a cold pack (I always keep one or two in the freezer in a plastic bag), they can relieve pain, swelling and inflamation from injuries and other conditions such as arthritis, carpel tunnel syndrome, sciatica, bursitis and tendonitis and TMJ disorders. Apply the cold pack for 15-20 minutes at a time once an hour for 2-3 times a day. Pop it back in the freezer and re-use in an hour.

Sometimes alternating between hot and cold packs will give you more comfort.

***New *** - Mini- teddy bags! I have been selling these at craft fairs for the past few years, and have just added them to my website. Priced affordably (Only $6.95!), and warmed up with my microwave, these fly off the table! Kids love to buy them for themselves and for their friends. They are the perfect size (approximately 6" X 5") to be a 'Boo-boo Bear', ie keep one in the freezer to be used as an emergency ice pack. Warmed up, they will fit into a coat pocket or can be clutched to walk to school, deliver papers, ...wherever some warmth and comfort is needed!

Heating Bags

Below are pictures of the microwaveable/freezeable heating bags that I make also. These bags have an inner sectioned bag filled with rice, and the decorative cover is removeable if it needs to be washed. These are approximately 22" X 4". Please note that included in the price are both the inner cotton bag, and the outer/washable cover! My best-selling neck roll has been the solid blue fabric filled with a combination of rice and lavender.

This is the cheapest route,when you order two or more bed buddies I can use expedited shipping which includes insurance. With expedited shipping, your order should arrive within 10-14 days once it has been shipped! If you would like to rush (sent by airmail instead of surface) a single order- please add $4US (total would be $26.95US). I will custom make your bed buddie to your specifications and mail it out within 7-10 days of your order. It should take 10-14 days to arrive once it has been shipped. If you need a rush order for a specific reason, email me and if possible (this is an extremely busy time of year for me) I will try to accomodate you.
